A black father was fighting for her daughter as she had to walk several miles to go to her "black only" school, when there was a "white" school very nearby. This is all a result of the segragation in the USA, and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) was fighting about the poor quality of these black schools and they also challenged the fact that there was not equality in the schools. The overall result of the case in 1954 was that the Supreme Court allowed the man's daughter (Linda Brown) to go to the "white" school; and promoted that the doctrine of 'separate but equal' had no place in education meaning segregation in education was wrong and must end.
