How did people’s outlook on life change from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance? What types of new activities and studies did people engage in?

I feel like they stopped doing the indulgences and they stop killing people over kids. Also, there's no king or queen in the U.S.A so no need to just have  a son (if you only can make daughters).  

the second part to the question is . The new activities are no more lower class or peasants or nobles. The church does have colorful things inside of it now. The church doesn't have people elected from the church.
