The interesting feature about houses in Catal Huyuk was that they had flat roofs where people entered into the house through hatches in the roof. The people walked around the flat roofs and they considered the roofs as streets.It benefitted the dwellers from force entry from the outside or kept thieves and burglars from breaking into the houses. As houses were built intact to each other and without doors, the only entrance was through the hole in the roof along with a ladder.
