The city-states of Athens and Sparta were different in many ways. Spartan (women, slaves, free men) had more rights compared to those in Athens. They could be educated and own land and property. Athenians introduced the concept of a (democratic, tyrannical, oligarch) government. On the other hand, Sparta was ruled by two kings.(agriculture, war, the slave trade) was the cornerstone of the Spartan economy, while trade was the driver of the Athenian economy.
