The Mayflower Compact is important in today's society because it was the first document written in the new world that created a government. The document was active for decades but died when Plymouth became a colony. The Mayflower Compact was a really good attempt of creating a democratic republic. This played a huge role in the New World gaining independence from Britain and the New World becoming the United States we live in and see today.
