B) Maybe I am wrong but it looks as if some of those women may have been slaves. This photo is in the 1800's but slavery wasn't officially ended until Dec. 6, 1865.
A) It is most likely not A because this is a large group of african american women (So I think from the photo) and since both groups are minorities, they had few rights back them. Therefore not allowing them to hold primary jobs like those of inventors but instead do labor.
