How did religion play a role in the founding of the colonies of Connecticut, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire?

All but New Hampshire were founded as havens for various religious groups, including Puritans, Separatists, and Quakers.

Many of the colonies were founded by religious leaders or groups looking for religious freedom. To seek freedom they fled for a better life.

These colonies included Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Maryland, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.
