In the 1960s, 70s, and 80s, many new nuclear power plants came online for the power grid in the United States. In the past 20 years, however, construction of new nuclear plants has been almost non-existent. Should reliance on nuclear energy be renewed, or is it proper to phase it out? How much should the United States rely on nuclear power as a source of energy? Why?
