The imperial presidents were heavily involved in foreign affairs but used different approaches which showed the aspects of freedom.

The main foreign policies of the United States include advancing democracy, advancing human rights, promoting international understanding, and protecting the country.

The reign of the imperial presidents such as Williams Howard Taft, Woodrow Wilson, and Theodore Roosevelt was an intriguing era in the country. Even though they had different approaches, their objectives of foreign policy were about improving the life of the citizens and the development of the country.

The term 'Imperial Presidency' was coined by historian Arthur Schlesinger, in his book with the same title. The term was used to refer to the service of Presidents to increase its power.

This increase of power was processed by Roosevelt, Taft, and Wilson in the form of foreign exchange. They all worked to expand US power by with different approaches and different meaning of freedom.

Roosevelt approached foreign policy with 'Big Stick Diplomacy.' The phrase was coined from Roosevelt's speech in which he said that they should approach countries with 'soft speech and big stick.' Through this approach, Roosevelt managed to broker an agreement over Panama Canal, expanded influence to Cuba, brought the peace between Russia and Japan.

On the other hand, Taft believed in expanding American influence through economic means. His approach of foreign policy was named as 'Dollar Diplomacy.' Through this policy, Taft managed to bag secured entry of American banks in China.

Whereas, Wilson believed in expanding American ideals to other nations. His approach of foreign policy was long term. His policy focused on democracy, open markets, and so on. His approach of foreign policy was named as 'Moral Diplomacy.' Through this approach, Wilson supported those nations that were democratic.

So, from this we can see that these Presidents had different approaches of foreign policy with different meaning of freedom in their mind.
