On September 2, 1945, following the surrender of Japan and the end of World War II, General Douglas MacArthur
made a radio broadcast. He said,
"We have known the bitterness of defeat and the exultation of triumph, and from both we have learned there can be
no turning back. We must go forward to preserve in peace what we won in war."
Based on MacArthur's words and the text of this lesson, describe in **two paragraphs** what efforts the Allies made
to preserve peace in the future.
