Explain the role that African Americans played in the Civil War. Explain the role that women played in the Civil War. How might the war have been different if they did not participate?

African american soldiers served in artillery and infantry and performed all noncombat support functions that sustain an army, as well.  They played important roles at home and out on the field. Sorry but I dont know the last question.
