The Qin emperor created most of the Great Wall of China. It was made to keep the Mongolians out of China. These Mongolians would kidnap Chinese leaders and rob and kill the poor that lived near Mongolia. He built his section of the Great Wall with the help of political prisoners who did not like the way that he ruled. When these prisoners died from overwork and the cold climate, he is said to have made them part of the mortar (def. cement) of the wall to hide their bodies.

Yes. People inside the wall can go on with their daily lives without mongols raiding them and with the security of the wall they will be separated by the wall. It protected the weak and defenceless people from the dangers of the big wide world. The wall was the strong barrier that protected crops,people, and livestock.

No. Think of it like this. The person you most loved has died by working to build the great wall. Insead of a proper burial, he gets crushed under 20 layers of bricks, mortar and dirt. So many people's loved ones died like this. No one can hide from that fact.
