Why did benjamin franklin start a group called the junto?

The junto also known as the leather apron Club, was a club for Mutual Improvement established in 1727 by Benjamin Franklin in Philadelphia the leather apron clubs purpose was to debate questions of moral politics and natural philosophy interexchange knowledge of business affairs

Franklin was a natural student.He wanted the joy he found in the written word throughout the community.So,he helped form this group "The Junto ",the group was of like-minded citizens in order to exchange ideas on what needed to be done, and how best to achieve such goals.
