The Los Angeles Riots were a week-long destructive protest, , initially in response to an unpopular jury verdict. After police officers accused of brutality were exonerated of serious charges, many residents took out their anger and outrage on people and buildings throughout the city the results caused chaos people  getting killed and people looting houses which is robbing peoples  houses. These tensions, however, exploded when video of the arrest of an African American man named Rodney King on March 3, 1991. King was arrested after leading police on an 8-mile high-speed chase through the city.
