Our state's Bill of Rights extends its protections to all Texans. Rather than just simply saying "all Texans," however, the Bill of
Rights changed in 1972 to name specific groups. Regardless of your membership in any of these groups, as a Texan you are
guaranteed your rights. Why would lawmakers be so specific in describing who receives rights in the state? In a short
paragraph, explain your ideas and predict what might happen if the Texas Bill of Rights were not this specific
