Without the scientific method you couldn't do experiments. It would be an unorganized and hard to do. With the scientific method it makes it possible to do experiments. Say if you want to do an experiment about rusty pennies. You would first make a hypothesis about what could possbily happen, then do the experiment, collect the data, and your conclusion (well that's the short version of the scientific method but you get my idea). These are the vital things that makes an experiment possible, without it we wouldn't have an experiment to this day.
