What was the failure of Lyndon B. Johnson’s Great Society legislation?

Firstly, the Great Society Legislation's goal was to reduce crime, abolish inequality, end poverty, and improve the environment. These programs that it created were good in name, however, lost majority if not all of their funding because of the United States entrances into the Vietnam war.

Lyndon B. Johnson was able to help many poor people and others who needed help with his Great Society legislation. For example, he declared a “war on poverty,” which helped create programs to help the poor. He also increased funding for schools and started the medicare program.
