The Judicial Branch, namely the Supreme Court, consists of 9 judges that are appointed by the President. Such appointment is outlined in Article II, Section 2, Clause 2 of the United States Constitution, which states the following:

And he shall nominate, and by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, shall appoint ambassadors, other public ministers and consuls, judges of the Supreme Court, and all other officers of the United States, whose appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by law

According to this section, the President has the authority to appoint certain public officials including the judges of the Supreme Court, and once the President has nominated a judge, then he or she has to be confirmed by the United States Senate.
