How was French colonization in North America different from Spain and England attempts?

French colonization was very much affected by religious wars in France itself, there were many changes in the attitude of French crown to invest in colonization projects so they never had so many resources as, for example, Spanish projects. Consequently many projects failed (Florida) and so-called New France did not receive so many investment. Consequently New France was condemned to be defeated and eliminated. France (especially royal France) abandoned New France.
