Russian civil war was fought from November 1917 to October 1922. The Czar Nichols second lost his throne after the Russian revolution and people organised themselves to take over Russia. Workers and farmers supported the communists while other supported the people who were loyal to the crown.

Whites were the people who opposed the communists while Reds were communists. The Red army won the war because their army was well organised. After their victory they established Soviet Union.

Many foreign countries were afraid of the communist victory , they were worried that the communism would also spread to their countries and hence they intervened in the civil war and helped the groups against communists.
