A bill has come before the legislature proposing the immediate deportation of any person residing in the United States who was not born here. The bill was debated in the House of Representatives and passes with a margin of 400 – 35 in favor of the new deportation law. It then goes to the Senate and is upheld by 70 – 30 in favor of the new law. The deportation bill is now sent to the President who signs it, making it an official federal law. The state of California challenges the bill and it is now in front of the Supreme Court for judicial review. The Supreme Court finds the new bill unconstitutional and strikes it down.
