The storming of the Bastille on 14th of July, 1789,is usually taken to be the day on which the French Revolution began. The significance of the event, however, is more symbolic. than anything else. The Bastille was a grim fortress-like prison, which came to symbolize in the minds of many of the evils of royal tyranny.

so the story tells of someone named kaushik choudhuri, but he does not narrate the story, a girl named hema does. hema tells the story in a second person point of view because you (the reader) are supposed to be the boy named kaushik.
