Why did southerners support the Kansas-Nebraska Act?

1. They wanted to continue the rule established by the Missouri Compromise.

2. They thought that granting popular sovereignty would allow slavery.

3. They wanted to stop the spread of slavery to that region.

4. They thought the region should continue to be one territory.
