The Ottoman Empire was one of the most extensive, in territorial terms, and one of the longest-lived in history. Between the 15th and 18th centuries, it experienced its great heyday, with a vast region under its rule. This region extended from Asia Minor to North Africa, not to mention a considerable part in Eastern Europe.
