Most foxes are brown or orange in color. However, near the arctic circle, far to the north, most foxes are light silver or nearly white. What is a MOST LIKELY reason for this color difference?

The arctic foxes are comprised of significant property. It is that they can change the color of their fur with the changing season. During the time of summer, the color of their fur is either orange or gray, but during the time of winter, it changes into almost white color, which is similar to the color of the snow.

This changing color or the differences that occur in term of color is most likely to protect themselves from the predators, and also to catch their preys.
