They executed the owners of the shop and also the white occupants in that area. They set houses ablaze as well. Soon after the group increased to a 100. According to history, the rebels protested on the streets of King’s Highway, asking for their freedom. Most of the black slaves that rebelled were killed by the colonists.

The Rebellion of the 1800s was known as the "Gabriel's Conspiracy". This revolt started with a slave named Gabriel. He conspired to rebel against the colonists to gain freedom.
