What caused the men of the Salem Witch Trials to be executed? What did the men and women victims have in common?

The cause was a group of young girls claiming they were "Possessed by the devil" and accused other women in the town for witchcraft.

The only thing that comes to mind about things they have in common was that they were all executed, there was no jail time for those accused of witchcraft.
