The impact of the French Revolution not only had on the European continent but also took on a global character.  Considering what was happening in the French South American population, they realized that people could successfully fight for their rights. The main figure in that fight was Simone Bolivar.

What further influenced the struggle of the South Americans was the Napoleonic war against the Spanish, which had colonies throughout South America. Bolivar took advantage of the unfavorable situation in Spain and led the revolutionary movements in southern America.
