Black Hand: The group of Serbian patriots that secretly worked for the liberation of Serbs from the Ottoman rule had named themselves 'Black Hand'. Members of this group knowing full well that they would be killed once they are caught, still chose to put their lives in danger for the cause of Serbian nationalism. This group of Serb nationals had played a crucial role in the assassination of Franz Ferdinand II (the Archduke of Austria) and that is why this group is also claimed to be responsible for the outbreak of world war I.
