In order to make the colonists of Massachusetts repay for the loss that they had caused to the government by throwing the tea into the sea, the government applied more stringent fines and taxes on the settlers of the colony. They introduced more troops of armed army men and tried to suppress the colonists. The governor appointed by the council was given complete authority to issue orders to open fire on the colonists if there was any protest or revolt anymore. This response of the government to the Boston Tea Party was utterly unjust and cruel.
