During the beginning of the renaissance period, a major event made a turn in the life of Europeans. This is because, a disease was started to spread widely in most cities. The black Plague was one of the deadliest illness that took over the half of the population in Europe quickly, affecting citizens who were close to each other.

Out of those cities was Italy, which was poorly prepared for such disease when the disease attacked it and it spreaded through the fleas brought to city on the Genoese trade. Black Plague resulted in a high percentage of starvation and food shortages, and the population was incredibly defenseless against this infection due to the lack of natural immunity.

This disease changed the era of Italy completely, making various changes in the social, economic and cultural life of the citizens but it helped in the birth of the greatest artistic and intellectual influence in the renaissance period.
