The impact of Frederick Jackson Turner on the United States is that he influenced political leaders during the 20th century.

Frederick Jackson Turner was a historian and popularly known for his “Frontier thesis”. He was based at the University of Wisconsin and later moved to Harvard in 1910.

As American historian, Turner trained many people including PhDs that later filled many prominent places in the profession.  

Turner, during the 20th century, promoted an interdisciplinary method and his widely known for his seminal essay “The Significance of the Frontier in American History". The concept of this essay constituted the frontier thesis.

In his essay, Turner maintained the fact that moving frontier contributed greatly to the development of American democracy and also shaped the character of Americans right from the period of colonization until 1890. Turner also developed several theories of geographical sectionalism.

Turner was born in Wisconsin on November 14, 1861. His father's name is Andrew Jackson Turner and his mother’s name is Mary Olivia Hanford Turner. His father was a politician, a newspaper publisher and also an investor while his mother was a teacher.
