In the late 1800s, the growth of all-black towns coincided with the development of the movement for an all-black state to join the union. blank(edward p. mccable/theadore roosevelt/benjamin harrison/j. h. lawhead) was one of the biggest supporters of this idea. he bought land and established the community of(langston/guthrie). though an all-black state never happened, more african americans moved to the state, and all-black communities sprang up throughout oklahoma.
