The national legislative branch was established by the article I of the Constitution, the legislative branch is made up of the house of representatives and the Senate which make up the US congress. The senate is composed of 100 senators, 2 for each state. The House of Representatives have 435 people. Congress meets in the U.S. capital building in Washington, D.C. The Constitution (Article I, Section 4) originally provided that "The Congress shall assemble at least once in every Year, and such Meeting shall be on the first Monday in December, unless they shall by law appoint a different day."
