American colonies were under the direct supremacy of the British rule that was despotic. The Britishers showed their dominance by imposing heavy taxes on the American colonies that they were burdened.

British started to emerge as an industrialized economy and did not want Americans to adapt to the mechanization and automation which was in boom during that period.  

Americans, who were an agricultural society taming animals and growing crops started to accrued wealth by establishing good trade relationships with the neighboring although disparities between the poor and the rich lingered during industrial revolution.
