Films were generally propoganda based and the audience emotions are targeted by showing realtable content and setting examples. During the war it was necessary to encourage young men to join army and so the films were shown to boost their enthusiam and make them join the armies.

Families felt proud of ending away their men to war and it was considered as great honour. This was the purpose of the films shown on the war times to influence the people of America.

explanation: we can only guess at how our actions may be perceived in the future. doing something really big like killing lots of people, saving lots of people, affecting the lives of lots of people is a sure fire way of being remembered in historical records. we can also make a difference in the history records by being a small influence on something bigger, whether that is as a civil servant, scientist or artist.
