According to hinduism, individual souls pass through a sequence of bodies over time as they undergo a process known as (reincarnation), an endless passage through cycles of life, death, and rebirth until the soul earns liberation.

Explanation:  Hinduism, as the oldest, and one of the Indo European polytheistic religions, advocates the principle of cyclical, that is, the birth and death of the soul, which is repeated several times. In this way, the soul is trapped in the bondage cycle between life and death, passing through many bodies, constantly reborn until it receives purification and thus liberation. After that, the soul no longer goes through the cycles of life and death, but after completing its mission of purification and enlightenment, goes to heaven forever. It is considered that the soul is trapped during the passage of the cycles of life and death because it is subject to the material principle. When enlightened, the soul is liberated from the material, and is free.

This process of constantly going through the cycle of life and death is called reincarnation or samsara, before eternal liberation.
