How did provincial people assimilate to or resist roman rule

Provincial peoples were assimilated into imperial life when they joined the army as provincial recruits and adopted and adapted Roman culture. Revolts by conquered peoples were common soon after defeat, but were also short-lived and unsuccessful. New urban centers became smaller versions of Rome, where gradually the local elites learned Latin, worshiped Roman gods, adopted Roman visual arts, and were sometimes granted citizenship.

this means that germany had to pay the allied countries. reparations are/is essentially payment for something that they have done wrong, so after ww1, germany was forced to pay reparations so they could replenish the allied countries resources' that they had lost during the war.
