What were some cool things about the 1920s?

-- In 1920 in New York City, there was at least 1 inch of snow on the ground for seven weeks, from January 16 until March 4 .

-- On March 28, 1921, the temperature in New York City dropped 29° degrees in one hour . . . from  81°  at 4:00 AM  to  52° at 5:00 AM.

--  On April 1, 1924, it was no April Fool's joke, as 8.5" of heavy, wet snow fell in New York from mid-afternoon until 9 PM.  Besides the snow, gale force winds gusted to 35 mph.

-- Less than a week after a fierce blizzard brought 10.4" of snow and sleet, accompanied by wind gusts of 40-45 mph, another snowstorm dumped a foot on New York City on February 10, 1926 .  Winds from this storm gusted between 30 and 35 mph.  Temperatures in the morning held steady in the low 20s and then fell slowly during the afternoon, reaching 11° by midnight.

-- On January 27, 1927, the morning low temperature was 1° below zero, a record for the date that still stands today.

-- February 26, 1928, with high/low temperatures of 23°/7° , was the coldest day of the winter in New York . . . 20° below average.  The low of 7° was a record for that date, and it was the only day of that Winter to have a reading in the single digits (lower than 10°).

-- New York's snow for the entire Winter of 1929 was 13.8" .  More than half of it fell on February 21, as 8.0" accumulated between 5AM and 2PM.  Temperatures were in the low-to-mid-twenties during the storm.
