In the past, the united states manufactured most of the products used byamericans. now, many of these products are imported from other countries. what is one reason for this change?

One of the main reasons for this change is cost.  Companies can manufacture products internationally, in countries such as China, where the labor laws are less strict.  This means it is much cheaper to make the product.
