What issues were of particular concern to religious fundamentalists in years of great depression and why?

During the great depression,  there were a lot of immigrants from Europe came into united states. They brought along new knowledge and traditions and assimilate this to united states. This situation  threaten the structure that the religious fundamentalists try to maintain.
