Why was dividing lee's army such a gamble?

there is more then one answer!

his troops were in unfamiliar territory.
he had so few men compared to the union forces.
losing jackson meant a loss of important leadership.
the enemy outnumbered him many times over.
lee had no cavalry and therefore could not attack.
