What particular problems did women face , both black and white , who worked out of the home

Women who performed the same jobs as men were paid less. They faced discrimination, for the simple reason of being women. Men thought that they were superiors and that they could do it better.

Also, the women that worked in the tile mills took advantage of that time to read, get educated, and had the chance to talk more, and be more social.

Then, disaster struck. The fire of the factory! Since employers did not trust the employees the doors were narrow (fit for one person at the time) this way their bags were checked at the end if the day to make sure they didn't steal anything. Also, all doors were locked from the outside and couldn't be opened from the inside. Thus, many women died in the fire.
