Step 1: you will choose 5 ideas that are necessary for a revolution to take place. you are basically defining a revolution here. be sure to describe the terms you choose. step 2: rank the 5 ideas and provide a rationale for your ranking step 3: you will choose a revolution (current or past- not the us revolution) and analyze whether it meets your definition/criteria of a revolution. this should include specific examples.

Step 1

In order to start a revolution it's needed:

A- An oppressed minority or group of people.

B- Corrupt and authoritarian leaders or powerful institutions.

C- A group of discontented people aimed to unify their forces, in order to revolt against the system.

D- A clear idea and vision to what needs to be changed and how it actually should be.

E- An idea strong enough to motivate people to take action and change it.

Step 2

Ranking from most important to the least one:

1- C ( Union between people ensures the success of the revolution)

2- E (Strong ideas are the ones who make bigger changes)

3- A (The oppressed are usually the ones who start a revolution but not always so this one is not such an important one)

4- D (Visions need to be clear and organized in order to succeed but the union is more important that's why this is the 4th)

5- B (Corruption and authoritarianism are usually the root behavior that makes the people revolt against but is not the most important thing to start a revolution that's why this is the last one)

Step 3:

Latin American Revolutions.

The Independence of Chile, Peru, and Argentina took place almost at the same time. During the 1800s these countries were ruled by the Spanish Crown and there were many colonies settled on them. After many years of natives being ruled by the Spanish Crown the Catholic Church, they decided to become independent countries. In Argentina, it all started in 1810 when people joined up in a meeting and formed the first group of people who talked about rights issues and taxes, they were called "La primera junta". Six years later, a national hero called San Martín liberated and gave its independence to Argentina. The 9th of July of 1816 is when representatives from each province signed up the declaration of independence and that's the day they became free.

In this revolution, there was a minority oppressed which were natives and Argentinians who had born in Argentina but they had Spanish origins. There was an authoritarian power who ruled over them by imposing their beliefs such as the Catholic religion. There was also a group of people who unified to fight for their beliefs: freedom. The vision and the goal were also clear; set free from the Spanish and become an independent country. So all of the five ideas about revolutions did appeared in this independence revolution.
