Is it the responsibility of the united states to spread and maintain peace and democracy throughout the world ?

Hello!!

I believe that the United States has not actively served as an instrument for spreading democracy. Instead as a light for freedom that other nations looked towards.

SO because of this I believe it is not the responsibility of the US to spread and maintain democracy.

However, I feel in some cases that the US should try and maintain peace in this day and age when fighting and hate is so wide spread.
