Mohammad's teachings originally were not adopted by all Arab people. For these teaching to become widespread, many factors were needed. One of the reasons why the teachings spread was because of conquests. In general, the conquest and invasions were not motivated by religion as much as by economic concerns. However, with the arrival of new people, new ideas spread as well.

These ideas were also spread due to trade and commerce. Arab people had long been engaged in commerce among themselves, which led to Islam spreading faster than it would have in a different region.
