The Insterstate Commerce Comission (ICC) was a regulatory independent agency which was created by The Interstate Commerce Act of 1887 in the United States. The agency's purpose was to regulate the economics and servicies of railroads to ensure fair rates for example. It was established against the railroad abuses like rate discrimination. This agency was integrated by five members chosen by the US president and it had the faculty of investigate public transportation companies to find out if  they  were braking the law.
