Civic Obligations are responsibilities of citizens living in a democratic society. These basic responsibilities help in the proper functioning of government.

Examples include:

Voting in elections is very important in order for a democratic society to work. We need to choose our own representatives to a parliament in order fro the government to function. A low voter turnout is usually seen as a bad sign.

In order to make the best decisions to vote for leaders, it is also important for citizens to stay up to date with latest news and current events.  The more knowledge and information citizens have, the better, the decisions they will be able to make.
