He decided that action with the main purpose to establish officially the secession of Louisiana from the Union through the convention of January 23, which then was approved in January 26, 1861 by the convention and caused that a year later the war bursted, generating that the city gave up and Moore and the legislature had to run away from Baton Rouge.
