The Albany plan of 1754, was the first major proposal to conceive all the thirteen colonies of the United States under one general government. This plan served as one of the early efforts of the management to develop a union of the colonies under one government for the defence and other relevant purposes.

This plan got a failure because the Colonists were worried about losing their own sovereignty. Colonists abandoned this plan because of their desire of the administration in the colonies to be simple.
